නුවණැති දෙමාපියෝ නම් කැමතිවන්නේ තම දරුවන් තමන්ට වඩා ශ්‍රද්ධාවෙන්, වීරියෙන්, සිහියෙන්, සමාධියෙන් සහ ප්‍රඥාවෙන් ඉදිරියට යනවා දකින්නයි. ඒ ඔවුන්, ඒ නිසා තම දරුවන්ට ලැබෙන බොහෝ වූ පුණ්‍යානිසංස දන්නා නුවණ ඇති නිසාත් සහ කාමයන්ගේ භයානක ආදීනව දන්නා නුවණ ඇති නිසාත්. කනගාටුවට කරුණ නම් බොහෝ දෙමාපියන් දරුවන් තව තවත් කාමයන් දෙසටම තල්ලු කිරීමයි. සමහර විට දෙමාපියන් නුවණැති වුනත් පෙර සසරේ බලවත් කාමයන් ඇසුරු කල ආශ්‍රව සහිත සිත් ඇති දරුවන් ඔවුන්ගේ අවවාද නොසලකා හරිනවා. ඒ කෙසේ වෙතත් ශ්‍රද්ධා, වීරිය, සිහිය, සමාධිය, ප්‍රඥා යන අංග ගැන දරුවන්ට කියාදීම ඔවුන්ගේ සසර ගමන සුවපත්වීම වෙනුවෙන් කරන අති මහත් වූ උපකාරයක්.

සමහර දහම් කරුණු අපට දැනට නොතේරුණත්, අද දරුවන් සේ පෙර සසරේ පින් ඇති අය අප අතරේ ඉපිද සිටින නිසාවෙන්...
දරුවන් අපට වඩා මේ භවයේ වයසින් නම් අඩු තමයි. නමුත් ඒ අය අපට වඩා (කුසලයෙන්) බාලයන් නොවෙන්න පුළුවන් මේ සසරේ. ඇත්තෙන්ම අප ඒ දරුවන්ට වඩා බාලයන් වෙන්නත් පුළුවන් සසර ගමනේ ස්වභාවය නුවණින් සලකා බැලූ විට. එහෙම වුනොත් ඔවුන්ට අපේ ඇසුර බාලයන්ගේ ඇසුරක් බවට පත්වෙනවා. එය අප අතින් ඔවුන්ට සිදුවෙන අසාධාරණයක්. (උදා. මිත්‍යා දෘෂ්ඨික දේශයන්හි පදිංචි වූ බොහෝ අය අතින් ඒ අයගේ දරුවන්ට මේ අසාධාරණය සිදුවෙනවා. පසුව ඒ අය ඒ ගැන කනගාටුවෙනවා අප සමග කියමින්.) එහෙම වෙන්න දෙන්න එපා. ධර්ම කාරණා, දැනට අපට නොතේරුණත්, ඒවා ඔවුන්ගේ සිතට ලැබෙන්න ඇසුරුකරන්න සලස්වන්න.

Through the Gazette notification No. 1933/16 pertaining to imposing Customs duties, the government has announced new Customs duties on Japanese motor vehicles like Toyota and others imported to Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, the Customs duty on a Toyota Aqua vehicle has been increased by Rs. 770,000while the duty on a Toyota Axio vehicle has been increased by Rs. 703,000.

Furthermore, the Customs duty on a Toyota Hiace Petrol vehicle has been increased by Rs. 1,365,000 and a Toyota Hiace Diesel vehicle by Rs. 1,700,000.

Similarly, the Customs duties on Toyota Premio/Allion vehicles have been increased by Rs. 675,000 and Toyota Prius motorcars by Rs. 1,120,000.

Also, the Customs duty on a Toyota Harrier has been upped by Rs. 1,150,000 while on a Mitsubishi Outlander the duty has gone up by Rs. 852,000.

The duty increases on these vehicles are given in the following Table:

Commenting on this, Sri Lanka Motor Vehicle Importers' Association president Indika Sampath Merinchige said that the prices of these vehicles would increase in accordance with these Customs duty increases.

He also added that due to the duty increase on Japanese vehicles, the prices of Indian manufactured vehicles too would increase.

ජපන් නැවක් අරාබි මුහුදේ යාත්‍රා කරමින් තිබිණි. නාන්නට සිතුණු කපිතාන්වරයා සිය රෝලෙක්ස් අත් ඔරලෝසුවත් රන් බ්‍රේස්ලටයත් ගලවා තබා නාන කාමරයට ගියේ ය. ආපසු පැමිණි විට, ඔහු ගේ වටිනා දේ අතුරුදහන් වී තිබිණි.
හේ තෙමේ සිය සේවක මඬුල්ලෙන් පස් දෙනකු පිළිබඳ ව සැක කෙළේ ය. ඔවුනට අඬ ගැසූ හෙතෙම ගෙවුණු විනාඩි 15 ඇතුළත ඒ එකිනෙකා කළ දේ විමසා සිටියේ ය. ඔවුන් ගේ පිළිතුරු මෙ සේ විය -

04. ඇමෙරිකා ජාතික රේඩියෝ නිලධරයා - (හිස් අතිනි). ''මම හිටියේ සමාගමට පණිවුඩයක් යවමින්, අපි දවස් දෙකකින්, ඒ කියන්නෙ සිකුරාදා උදේ පැය 1100ට, වරායට එන බව දන්වලා.''
