The World’s best landmine deactivators are in Sri Lanka

D.K.N. Rohan , a soldier of Sri Lanka Army attached to the Engineering Regiment and his assistant, ‘Sparkertus’ dog have been awarded as the Best Landmine Detectors’ Team, 2012 by the United States of America.

The Martial Legacy Institute which functions as a famous Non-governmental Organization in USA has presented the award to Soldier Rohan and his assistant dog Sparkertus on 10th October at the Annual Award Ceremony held in Washington.

Sri Lankan landmine deactivators' team was able to claim the award after contesting with 107 teams who had represented 11 countries across the world.
